School Climate Transformation Grants
for Local Education Agencies

We
are writing to share a funding opportunity for local education
agencies. The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) is seeking applications
for fiscal year 2019 for the School Climate Transformation Grant
Program—Local Educational Agency Grants (SCTG-LEA). Applications are due
by July 22, 2019.
VIEW APPLICATION
The
SCTG-LEA provides competitive grants to local educational agencies
(LEAs) to develop, enhance, or expand systems of support for, and
technical assistance to, schools implementing a multi-tiered system of
support, for improving school climate. The DOE is prioritizing support
to rural LEAs and applications that include projects designed to:
- Protect freedom of speech and encourage respectful interactions in a safe educational environment
- Promote strong relationships among students and school personnel to help prevent bullying, violence, and disruptive actions
- Foster knowledge and promote the development of skills that prepare students to be informed, thoughtful, and productive individuals and citizens
- Improve student academic performance and better prepare students for employment, responsible citizenship, and fulfilling lives
- Help students develop determination, perseverance, self-esteem, problem-solving skills, self-regulation, etc.
- Address opioid abuse prevention and mitigation strategies
