Out of the Darkness Walk

As part of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Central College is sponsoring an "Out of the Darkness" campus walk to gain awareness, provide outreach, involvement, and support.  This event has been organized by a Central College student, Cheyanne Scholl, who when a loved one's suicide affected her, she wanted to do something.  Often those left behind feel helpless.  Being a part of something that can work to break the stigma, advocate for support, or prevent suicide feels helpful.

We are working to get the word out to local high school counselors and staff and other organizations to join us on this walk Sunday, March 31st.  Registration table is open at 12:00 noon and the walk begins at 1:30.    Individuals and teams can register to participate.  It does not cost anything to register but you may choose to donate or form a team. Teams can decide how to donate.   We already have a Pleasantville team of 10 and they have set a goal to raise $1,000.00.

Attached is a flyer about the event and information for ordering T-Shirts if you wish.
