R.I.D.E 2019 is ready to board!

Rediscover Iowa's Diverse Education, June 9-12, 2019

A three-day bus tour for school counselors, providing a door-to-door, first-hand look at select college campuses and what makes them unique. Each year the RIDE's takes counselors to a variety of colleges in a specific region for tours, hands-on learning, meals and even overnights in residence halls!
All transportation, meals, and lodging are taken care of by host colleges and Iowa ACAC.

RIDE 2019 is slated to visit the following campuses:

Grinnell
Marshalltown Community College 
Ellsworth CC
Iowa State University
DMACC
Aveda Institutes
Drake
Grand View University
Des Moines University
Mercy College of Health Sciences

There is a $25 non-refundable registration fee. All schools represented by registrants who participate in the RIDE will receive a one-year, institutional Iowa ACAC membership for all members of their office. Make sure to share this professional development opportunity with your counseling counterparts throughout the state

We are once again offering our one day course - Mental Health Response and Referral - For more information, see below --

Mental health issues in our schools are on the rise. Imagine this typical scenario: A teacher sends a student to your office because they have concerns. How do we, as helping professionals respond? This workshop is designed specifically for those helping professionals to create and implement systemic responses to those many and varied situations regarding mental health and suicide. Participants will leave with a binder of best practice ideas and resources.
