From Neurons to Community

The day will combine three elements to create an interactive discussion on the fundamentals of race and implications to all Iowans:

            ¨  The Role of the Dice Experience which is interactive training "game" de- signed to strengthen community leaders’ and professionals’ ability to understand and work with the causes and effects of racial and economic dis- proportionality. The experience brings together readily available neurosci-ence research and disproportionality data in a fun, personal and interactive manner that mobilizes participants to better 
digest, integrate and apply research and evaluation into their efforts. The RACE: Why are we so different? exhibition at the Science Center of

            ¨Panels of Experts Iowa State University, University of Iowa and Drake University faculty and staff talking about racial disproportionality in wealth, housing, education, justice and health.
