Improving the Climate and Culture in Your School This two-day event is designed to improve school climate and culture through professional development, skill building and application of the best practices and research.  A series of workshops, speeches and breakout sessions will focus on key areas, such as: Best Practices in Improving Student Behavior Multi-Tiered System of Supports Cultural Proficiency Social and Emotional Health Stakeholder Engagement Nationally-recognized experts will be speaking and leading workshops throughout the Summit. Gruwell is a teacher, an education activist, and the founder of the Freedom Writers Foundation. She created the Freedom Writer Methods, a progressive teaching philosophy and curricula designed to achieve excellence from all students. By fostering an educational philosophy that values and promotes diversity, Gruwell transformed her students' lives. The work for the Freedom Writers has received attention around the world.
