District Plan Updates for 2017

I have just received a notice from Amy Vybrial at the Department of Education. Beginning in fall of 2017 districts will be reporting information from the District Plan and completion of ICAP. Here is what I know now -

  1. Accountability requirements for reporting academic year 2017 will be available after the Consolidated Accountability and Support Application (CASA) and Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) programmers create the assurances and CSIP fields.
  2. District PlansPlease keep the district plan in a place where all members of the internal team have access.  The plan is a dynamic document that will be revisited by the team as college and career planning progresses.
  3. Iowa Code 279 chapter 61 will now be monitored via differentiated accountability/CASA and data reporting through CSIP.  School districts will report data and assurances by the CSIP's September 15 deadline.  Information will be obtained from the school district's Career Information System (CIS) that meets state standards
  4. Districts will report CIS utilized, number of 8-12 students completing plans, signatures obtained in grade 8, etc.
  5. The legislation requires annual reporting in the Condition of Education report.  The department also needs numerical reporting so that we may respond to information requests from legislators and the public in aggregated totals.
Please be aware of the changes and reporting through the CASA program in September. At this time I do not know any more information, but will keep you posted as I do
Thanks!!
