On February 1, 2017, from 3 to 4:30
p.m. ET, the Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the
Substance Abuse Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA) will present
E-Module Learning: Creating Safe and Accepting
Academic Environments for Muslim and Sikh Youth.
This listening-only webinar will be used to create
e-learning modules for www.stopbullying.gov.
It aims to enhance cultural competency and
understanding of Muslim and Sikh youth, and to
raise awareness of issues that impact the
community, such as anti-Muslim hate and
xenophobia. The webinar is designed to equip the
public with strategies for addressing bias and
identity-based bullying; understanding the impact
of bullying on students' mental, emotional, and
social well-being; and mitigating the negative
effects of bullying.
