Factors such as strong academic preparation, family support, and a sense of belonging are critical for Hispanic students planning to go into STEM fields. This webinar presents research on factors that influence Hispanic students' success in STEM degrees as well as strategies to support this success.
Speakers and Key Topics
  • Amaury Nora, Ph.D., University of Texas at San Antonio, presents research on cognitive and psychosocial factors influencing enrollment, academic performance, persistence, and graduation among Hispanic college students.
  • Texas Valley Communities Foundation staff members describe their programs to mobilize and engage teachers, parents, and the community in strengthening college and career readiness among Hispanic students in South Texas.
